ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Anambra state chapter has appealed to Anambra State, Governor Chief Willie Obiano to save the NYSC orientation camp from erosion by expediting actions on the completion of the landscaping.
The appealed was made on Friday by the state coordinator , Mr. Kehinde Aremu during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2021 Batch A stream 2 corp members deployed to the state at it’s Permanent Orientation Camp Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South local government area .
According to Aremu, whose address was read by the state NYSC Assistant Director and Head of Press &, Publicity Mrs. Anuli Moloku, said that the environment was becoming so bad for reasonable activities , especially as the raining season is here already.

He said that erosion menace in the newly commissioned orientation camp was becoming overwhelming. The Coordinator also appealed to the corps members in the state to be serious since their leadership qualities are tested during the service year.
According to him, corps members must always be in their best behavior and portray a good national value while discharging their duties to the nation.
Meanwhile , Obiano has advised corp members to take advantage of the entrepreneurship skills being taught on camp during the orientation Programme .
According to the governor , what corps members learnt on camp will equip them towards self employment and ultimately becoming employers of labour.
The Governor, who was represented by the NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Kehinde Aremu commended the NYSC scheme for successfully mitigating the challenges of the nation in critical areas of national needs ,especially in education, health, agriculture and infrastructure.
He also urged the corps members to emulate the successes story recorded by their predecessors in the state. During the Ceremony 2000 corps members were administered with oath of allegiance by the Chief Judge of Anambra State Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebelu represented by Hon Justice Okey Onunkwo.
