IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 371 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 158,906. But out of the 158,906 all time cases, 138,502 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,982 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 18, 422 active cases while 13 patients died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-102, Enugu-65, Edo-56, FCT-23, Ogun-20, Osun-18, Bayelsa-18, Rivers-15, Kaduna-14, Plateau-10, Oyo-8, Bauchi-7, Kano-5, Delta-4, Nasarawa-3, Niger-2 and Ekiti-1, making a total of 371 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 117, 060, 462 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 2, 597, 318 patients are no more, while 66, 280, 087 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 48, 183, 057 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the country worst hit, reporting 29, 033, 369 confirmed cases, while 525, 619 patients have been killed by the pandemic(49,199 new and 825 deaths*) followed by India with 11, 229, 398 all time cases, 157, 853 patients have passed on while 10, 882, 798 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 188, 747 active cases of Coronavirus(18, 599 new and 97 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 11, 019, 344 all time infections, 265, 411 patients are no more, while 9, 806, 361 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 947, 572 active cases of Coronavirus(80, 508 new and 1086 deaths*).
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit, reporting 4, 284,408 all time infections, 87, 985 patients are already dead, while 3, 878, 189 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 318, 234 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 145 new and 371 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 235, 879 confirmations, 124, 801 deaths and 11, 851 recoveries, leaving the UK with 4, 099, 227 active cases of Coronavirus(4713 new and 65 deaths*) and France now reporting 3, 969,586 all time infections, 89, 089 patients have passed on while 272, 887 others are now hale and hearty, leaving France with 3, 607, 610 active cases of Coronavirus(5508 new and 362 deaths*).
Spain has continued as the 7th country most affected by the pandemic, reporting 3, 160,970 confirmations, 71, 436 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have recovered officially, leaving Spain with 2, 939, 158 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 958 new and 298 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 3, 081, 368 confirmed cases, 100, 103 deaths and 2, 508, 732 recoveries, leaving Italy with 472, 533 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 882 new and 318 deaths*) and Turkey which has reported 2, 793,632 all time cases, 29,094 patients have passed away, while 2, 632, 030 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Turkey with 132, 508 active cases of the pandemic(13, 215 new and 64 deaths*).
Germany is the 10th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 2, 513, 768 all time infections, 72, 048 deaths while 2, 315,310 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Germany with 126, 410 active cases of Coronavirus(5116 new and 92 deaths*) and South Africa(16th) most affected with 1, 521, 068 registered cases, 50, 803 patients have lost their lives, while 1, 442,045 others have survived the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 28, 220 active cases of Coronavirus(125 deaths*).
