An encounter with Nollywood’s Anne Njemanze of Domitilla
LAGOS, Nigeria – Nollywood’s Anne Njemanze is an actress that has come a very long way in Nollywood.
An actress who has carved a niche for herself, Anne Njemanze is well known for the role she played in the famous film, Domitilla, produced by the grandmaster, Zeb Ejiro, but it seems she been missing in the acting scene.
We had a chance encounter with Anne Njemanze last Sunday when new music sensation, C-Clear was unveiled to the media by his production outfit, Morning Side Entertainment, which has promised to redefine the way artistes are treated by making them to reap from their labour unlike some recording companies who use them for self aggrandisement.
Anne Njemanze was the star attraction during the occasion which also saw the launching of Samantha by C-clear. Anne Njemanze took her time to show to all that she still remains the actress to beat when she took to the floor to rock it down with C-clear.
In an encounter with starconnectmedia, she revealed that she has been busy with Tinsel and theatre ” I still feature on Tinsel, on Mnet, if you tune in to the channel, I am regular in that series, besides I also did a film not too long ago”, she said.
But she has not been the regular face many will desire especially with films which are churned out in recent times.
Though, the industry does not pay that much, nevertheless God has been good to her.
“I am now a civil servant”, she told the pair of senior journalists that approached her after seeing her for over one decade. “I am now with National Theatre, the sassy Anne Njemanze told the journalists with a lovely smile.
She also spoke of her colleagues who may not be too regular in films, the likes of Rita Dominic, Kate Henshaw and the rest whom she said are either still acting or doing their own thing.
“Kate Henshaw is still acting”, she said, adding that others may not necessarily be acting but doing their own thing.
