IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – A 17-year-old boy, on Thursday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing a teenage boy to death. The defendant, a resident of Agunfoye, Igbogbo, Ikorodu an outskirts of Lagos, was brought to court on a two- count charge of conspiracy and murder.
The defendant’s plea was not taken in the teenage murder case, while the Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Komolafe, ordered that the teenager be remanded at the Special Correctional Centre for boys in Oregun, Lagos.
Komolafe also adjourned the case to Nov. 27. The Prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione told the court that the defendant committed the teenage murder on October 14, at about 9.00p.m., at No. 42, Ire Road, Agunfoye, Igbogbo, Ikorodu.
He alleged that the defendant had a misunderstanding with the 14-year-old deceased high led to a fight and he used a kitchen knife to stab him on his neck during the fight.
Uwadione, noted that the offence contravened Sections 223 and 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015. NAN reports that Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 provides for death sentence of convicts. (NAN)
