ABE: I WON’T PARTICIPATE IF APC FAILS TO CONDUCT DIRECT PRIMARIES IN RIVERS
PORT HARCOURT, Rivers, Nigeria – Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Senator Magnus, has declared that he would not participate in the governorship primary of the party slated for Saturday, September 29, if the indirect system is adopted.
“If the party will not conduct the contest with the direct primary, then, I will not be part of any primaries that is predetermined! The outcome of the indirect or is predetermined. I will not be part of coronation of a king that will not be crowned. This is the turn of the Rivers South Senatorial District, and I am the only Son from this Senatorial District that has bought form and is contesting for this position”
Abe who Spoke on Thursday in Bori at the Rivers South East Senatorial Rally of the All Progressive Congress also recalled that the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, when he was governor had assured Stakeholders from Ogoni, at government house, in 2014, that he will support an Ogoni indigene to become governor in 2015.
“Amaechi promised Traditional Rulers, Academia, Kagote, MOSOP, etc from ogoni that he will personally led the campaign for an ogoni Son. He said the reason why ogonis have not become Governor is because they have not made noise. Where is he now? He has gone to tell our kalabari brothers the same thing. I have told my kalabari brothers to be aware!” He accused Amaechi of pushing him to insult Governor Nyesom Wike, insisting that he would insult the governor of his state.
“I will not start abusing the Governor Wike just to please any man. He is the Governor of Rivers state. I was raised by my father to inherit his friends and make my own enemies. If you have a personal problem with Wike, go and sort it out; if it is our political issue, we will address it sufficiently when the time comes!”
