IGP IDRIS DIDN’T SNUB THE SENATE, YOUNG PROFESSIONALS TELLS ONLINE MEDIA
ABUJA, Nigeria – The United Young Professionals has called on Nigerians especially the Senate to disregard the publications in Premium Times titled “PHOTO NEWS: Police IG Idris in Kaduna after snubbing Senate again”.
In a press statement signed by the National Coordinator of United Young Professionals, Adewole Kehinde, he said that the Inspector General of Police is on assessment tour of Birnin Gwari of Kaduna State to access the security situation of the area and promised to increase Police presence in the troubled areas. He is accompanied by the GOC 1 Division, Kaduna, Gen. Mohammed Mohammed.
“The Senate should commend the Inspector General of Police for the on the spot assessment which to us is paramount than sitting for hours debating the crises when his Deputy can do that, Adewole said. We wish to notify Premium Times that those killed in Kaduna State are Nigerians whose life is important. After all, the Senate abandoned their legislative duties to visit Senator Dino Melaye in the hospital.
“The summon of the IGP by the Senate is official, so the IGP has done the right thing by send the DIG Operations who is in the best position to answer any questions from the Senate. We called on the media especially online media to be professional in their reportage instead of misleading Nigerians.
