SADE, THE SOCIALITE THAT CHIEF EBENEZER OBE ALLUDED TO IN HIS EVERGREEN SONG, ‘SADE DARA LOBINRIN’ TURNS DESTITUTE
LAGOS, Nigeria – These are really not good times for Sade, the socialite lady, so reverred in those days that Nigeria’s iconic crooner of highlife music, Chief Ebenezer Obey eulogised her for the millions within her reach and the ease with which she hovers all over the world.
But the sad news is that things have fallen apart and she is practically counting on good Nigerians to put a roof over her head.
We gathered that she was the lady, Obe reffered to in the song”Ore mi ka ma paro, ka mu tegan kuro, Sade dara lobinrin…..Ajala travelled all over the world….”
The pretty Sade, we gathered is now a destitute being catered for by the Red Cross in Ibadan. We have not verified the report, but we gathered that she’s there at Dugbe, very close to Fijabi’s filling station and will be ready to tell you her story and will allow her pictures to be taken”, we have been told.
Her case is similar to that of the late Fatai Rolling Dollars, who was rescued from Teslim Balogun Stadium, where he was working as a gateman and making millions in his youthful days.
