TITHING : MEN OF GOD LOBBY COOL FM TO SACK DADDY FREEZE
LAGOS, Nigeria – Controversial Radio Presenter, Daddy Freeze is on fire following his outburst on radio condemning payment of tithe, which has been institutionalised as a major source of income in churches.
He did not say anything new other than to reinforce what has been clearly stated in the scriptures.
Sources at Cool FM, where Daddy Freeze works as a presenter told www.starconnectmedia.com that men of God(names withheld) from some of the churches with billionaires as General Overseer have been lobbying management of the station to sack Daddy Freeze, for leading an outburst they consider as an abormination.
“They are so despirate that they are lobbying management of Cool FM to sack Daddy Freeze”, he said. We gathered that management of Cool FM is studying the situation but very unlikely to yeild to presure from the men of God.
But what exactly did Daddy Freeze say that caused this public uproar.
For Freeze, tithing was never a part of Christianity. “If it were we would have had examples of believers who were, Greek, Gentile, Arab, Roman or Corinthian paying tithes or being admonished to pay. Tithing was also NOT a part of the first Churches the disciples set up, it was an addition to Christianity and is being propagated with much maliciousness.
“In a recession pastors are getting richer while some people are being sold into slavery and this MUST stop. I’ll appeal to you not to promote tithing until this question is answered, so you don’t end up edifying the idolatry going on in many churches today.
“Where did Jesus, our new high priest under Melchizedek, The pillar upon which the Christian faith leans and the foundation of our belief system collected tithes from his congregation, or where our first pastors and GOs the disciples, collected tithe? WHERE???
“As a matter of fact Jesus only spoke about tithe twice in the entire bible and in both instances, he condemned people. One clear example of such is in Matthew23:23 where he rebuked the Pharisees for their hypocrisy. He said they remembered to tithe from their fruit gardens but neglected the weightier matters of the law, justice and mercy.
“Although Jesus said yes they should tithe, lets remember that the Pharisees and scribes were teachers of the religious law and that religion wasn’t Christianity, it was Judaism, a religion that makes up 79% of the population in Israel today, as against the 2% of Christians that live there.
“Furthermore, the Pharisees didn’t believe that Christ was the messiah, hence the frequent temptation”, he said, but in real sense, what he said was nothing but the whole truth.
However, apostles of tithe often quote Malachi 3:10, which says “Bring the entire tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house; and test me out, please, in this regard,” Jehovah of armies says, “to see whether I will not open to you the floodgates of the heavens and pour out on you a blessing until there is nothing lacking,” he said.
On tithing, God told the Israelites, at De 26:12 “When you finish tithing the entire tenth of your produce in the third year, the year of the tenth, you will give it to the Levite, the foreign resident, the fatherless child, and the widow, and they will eat their fill within your cities. But this never the case in the churches.
The tithe as explained was meant for for the Levites because they have no inheritance and the needy.
“But the Levites have no share among you, because the priesthood of Jehovah is their inheritance; and Gad, Reuʹben, and the half tribe of Ma·nasʹseh have already taken their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them.” Joshua 18:7.
But doctrine, we gather has been defeated today. Tithing and offering have been used for personal aggrandisement.
We gathered that with tithes and offering, some pastors now have about four private jets.
“They seems to have forgotten that Jesus Christ, the foundation of Christianity had no home even when he had the power to be the richest man in the world.
“Those who don’t buy jets invests proceeds of tithe and offering in universities that children of those who pay tithes and offering are not able to afford”, John Obidigbo said.
