London, Sept, 08, 2016 – A man, Aqil Ali(31), resident at Mornington, Greenford has been found guilty of multiple sexual offences after he subjected a woman to a two hour sex attack in a park in broad daylight.
ALI FOUND GUILTY OF TWO HOURS SEX ATTACK
The women, (40) whose identify has been withheld was on her way to work on Saturday, March 5, 2015 when the assailant attacked her and subjected her to two hours of sexual attack.
But the Isleworth Crown Court found him guilty on Wednesday 7 September, after a six day trial.
According to London Metropolitan Police, Ali was convicted of ten offences namely; kidnapping, two counts of rape , two counts of assault by penetration, attempted rape, actual bodily harm, theft and two offences of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
“He approached her and asked if she had a cigarette, when the victim said she did not smoke he launched the assault. He dragged her into a secluded spot and brutally attacked her. Ali then stole money from his victim and fled the scene. The victim, despite being injured and very distressed, managed to raise the alarm at a nearby shop”, the police said.
Detectives from the Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command began an immediate investigation but studying the CCTV footage from the park which captured Ali entering and leaving the park, but he had obscured his face with clothing.
A DNA match to Ali was later identified and on 7 March he was arrested at his home address. Sentencing will take place on Wednesday, 12 October 2016 at Isleworth Crown Court.
