Eid-El-Fitr: Abatemi-Usman congratulates Muslims
Abatemi-Usman in a statement signed by his media adviser, Michael Jegede, to felicitate with his fellow Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Fitr celebration, implored them to remain committed and dedicated to the service of God.
The governorship hopeful called on the Muslim faithful to endeavour to imbibe the essential virtues and lessons of Ramadan which, according to him, include sacrifice, tolerance, perseverance, love and peace.
“I wish to congratulate my fellow Muslim brethren on the successful observance of the Ramadan. As we celebrate the occasion of Eid-el-fitr, may our various supplications during the period of Ramadan be answered by Allah! It is important that we continue to live a life worthy of emulation and pleasing to Allah. We must carry on with the basic teachings of the Ramadan which include sacrifice, tolerance, perseverance, love and peace. We must also continue to show patriotic zeal in our collective quest and desire at building a great nation in the interest of our country, Nigeria,” Abatemi-Usman counseled.
The former lawmaker who represented Kogi Central Senatorial District in the last session of the Upper Legislative Chamber of the National Assembly, also appealed to the members of the Boko Haram sect to desist from their incessant killing of innocent citizens and embrace peace in the spirit of Eid-el-fitr, as according him, such dastardly act is completely at variance with the teachings of Islam.
Abatemi-Usman prayed God for the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi and Baylesa States, while appealing to politicians and electorate to avoid acts capable of causing crisis and mayhem during the electioneering period in both states.
