Doped up, stripped, whipped, and raped: Brave victim of suitcase gang sadist breaks her silence after horror ordeal
By SCM REPORTER I 12 June 2026
A BRUTAL suitcase cartel beast who kidnapped, tortured, and repeatedly raped a young British woman has been jailed for 34 years.
Gagandeep Singh, 34, was part of a ruthless masked gang that snatched the terrified 24-year-old victim from Birmingham Airport after she bravely refused to smuggle a mystery suitcase into the country from Thailand.
The victim was driven to a house of horrors in Hanwell, London, where she was subjected to a “level of brutality that is unimaginable.” Over 24 hours of sheer terror, she was:
Blinded by masked thugs
Stripped naked and beaten
Whipped and burned
Raped twice by sadistic Singh.
Following a harrowing trial at Isleworth Crown Court, Singh was hit with a massive 34-year extended sentence today. He will serve at least 18 years behind bars before being booted out of Britain for good.
’We carry no shame’
Today, the inspirational survivor broke her silence to encourage other women to stand up to monsters, declaring: “We are not the ones who should carry shame. We survive, and we go on to live again.”
The court heard how the nightmare began in June 2024 when the victim flew back to the UK. She had rightfully snubbed demands to bring a suitcase packed with unknown items back from Thailand.
But as she stepped outside Birmingham Airport, she was ambushed by masked men, thrown into a car, and driven to a London safehouse.
After her day-long torture ordeal, the shattered victim was dumped on the street and warned that she and her family would be murdered if she went to the cops.
Terrified and traumatised, she initially hid the full extent of the horror from her mum. But her courageous mother refused to let the thugs win, preserving her daughter’s stained clothing as vital forensic evidence and making a third-party report to the Metropolitan Police.
It took six weeks of painstaking care by specialist female Met officers before the victim felt strong enough to give a full account.
And in a sensational twist, the clothes her mum saved provided a one-in-a-million DNA match for Singh—who was already sitting in a prison cell on remand for an unrelated crime.
DC Seetara Abdul, from the Met’s North West Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit, praised the victim’s “impressive strength and resilience.”
“The cruel level of control left her fearing for her life. Threats were made to try and silence her, but the diligent care shown by officers meant we were able to apprehend and charge an extremely dangerous individual.”
Singh, of Heathfield Road, Wandsworth, denied everything and gave “no comment” interviews, but a jury saw through his lies in February, convicting him of kidnap, false imprisonment, GBH with intent, and two counts of rape.
This sickening case comes as the Metropolitan Police reveals a massive overhaul in how it tackles violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Under intense scrutiny to clean up London’s streets, the force has put more than 23,000 officers through bespoke trauma-informed training to better support victims.
The radical shake-up is already yielding massive results. New data reveals that arrests and charges for rape offences have skyrocketed by 116 per cent compared to last year.
The Met now boasts the highest detection and charge rate for rape suspects in the entire country.
Using data-led tactics like the ‘V100 programme’, detectives are now tracking and targeting the top 100 most dangerous, repeat sex offenders in the capital before they can strike again.
