JERUSALEM – Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported on Monday, October 6, 2025, that 21 people had been killed and 96 injured in the last 24 hours of fighting, bringing the total number of reported fatalities since the start of the current war on October 7, 2023, to 67,160.
According to a statistical report issued by the ministry, the death toll from the ongoing “Israeli aggression” has climbed to 67,160 reported “martyrs” and 169,679 injuries since the conflict began nearly two years ago.
The ministry stated that the 21 fatalities—which include two retrieved from inaccessible areas—and the 96 injuries had arrived at hospitals across the Gaza Strip over the preceding 24 hours.
They also noted that a significant number of victims remain “under the rubble and on the roads,” with ambulance and civil defense crews allegedly unable to reach them.
The report also provided a breakdown for a more recent period, stating that from March 18, 2025, until today, the reported casualties have reached 13,568 martyrs and 57,638 injuries.
The Ministry of Health statement specifically highlighted what it terms “martyrs of livelihood,” referring to individuals killed during or attempting to engage in aid distribution. In the past 24 hours, the ministry claims two such deaths and 19 injuries arrived at hospitals.
This latest count raises the total reported toll for these aid-related fatalities to 2,610 deaths and more than 19,143 injuries since the start of the war.
The figures released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza do not differentiate between combatants and civilians.
They have been widely cited by international organizations and media outlets but are viewed by Israeli officials with caution, who claim the numbers are inflated and do not account for Hamas fighters or deaths caused by misfired Palestinian rockets.
Israel’s military operation according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is aimed at dismantling Hamas’s military and governing capabilities following the group’s massive cross-border attack on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the kidnapping of hundreds more.
