Hamas suspends further release of Israeli captives over breach of ceasefire deal

GAZA, Palestine – The Islamic Resistant Movement in Gaza, Hamas has suspended further release of Israeli captives following the actions of the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF who have persistently violated terms of the ceasefire and prisoners exchange deal.

In a statement, Spokesman of the Al-Qassam Brigade(an arm of Hamas), Abu Obeida said the resistance leadership has monitored the enemy’s violations over the past three weeks and its failure to abide by the terms of the agreement.

” From delaying the return of the displaced to the northern Gaza Strip, targeting them with shelling and gunfire in various areas of the Strip, and not allowing relief supplies of all kinds to enter as agreed upon, while the resistance has implemented all its obligations”, he said.

Accordingly, he announced that”the handover of the Zionist prisoners who were scheduled to be released next Saturday, corresponding to 02-15-2025, will be postponed until further notice, and until the occupation commits to and compensates for the entitlements of the past weeks retroactively, and we affirm our commitment to the terms of the agreement as long as the occupation commits to them”, he said.
