Tinubu sacks 5 ministers, designates Bianca, 6 others for minister

ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sacked five ministers in his cabinet, just as he nominated seven new ones to be appointed if they scale through senate screening. Prominent among them is wife of late Odumegwu Ojukwu, former Biafra warlord, Bianca Ojukwu.

The 5 ministers sacked are Uju-Ken Ohanenye, formerly minister of women affairs, Lola Ade-John, who was minister for tourism, Professor Tahir Mamman, minister for education, Abdullahi Mohammad Gwarzo, minister for housing and urban development and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, minister of youth development.

The seven new minister nominees are Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction,  Muhammadu Maigeri Dingyadi, minister of labour and productivity designate, Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, minister of foreign affairs, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Idi Muktar Maiha, Minister of Livestock development, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of state for Housing and urban development and Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of state for education.

Ten ministers were reassigned to new ministries, some demoted, while some were promoted. They are Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, formerly minister of state for humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction,  but now reposted as minister of state for education, Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa formerly minister of state for health, now  minister of education; Bello Muhammad  Goromyo, formerly Minister of state, water resources and sanitation, now reposted as minister of state, works;  Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpeha Momoh formerly minister of Niger Delta development, now minister of regional development; Uba Maigeri Ahmadu formerly  minister of  state for steel development, now minister  of state for Regional Development; Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, formerly minister of Industry, trade and investment, now minister of state for finance.

Others are Sen. John Owan Enoh, formerly minister of sports development, now Minister of trade and investment(Industry),  Imam Suleiman Ibrahim formerly minister of state for police affairs, now minister of women affairs, Ayodele Olawande formerly minister of state for youth development, now minister of youth development and Dr. Salako Iziaq  Adekunle Adebayo, formerly minister of state for environment, now minister of  state, Health.
