Israel announces elimination of Hezbollah commander in Qana, Southern Lebanon

LEBANON – The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF has announced that it killed Hezbollah Commander in charge of the Qana area in Southern Lebanon.
In a statement, the IDF identified the commander as Jalal Mustafa Hariri.
“As part of his role, Hariri was responsible for the planning and execution of a large number of terror attacks against the State of Israel from the Qana area”, the IDF said.
It added, “along with Hariri, the Hezbollah terrorists responsible for artillery strikes and anti-tank missiles from the area were also eliminated.
“Their elimination serves an additional blow to the Hezbollah terrorist organization. The IDF will continue to operate to thwart every threat against the State of Israel and its citizens”, the IDF said.
The IDF added that troops of the Golani Brigade continued their limited, localized, targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence in southern Lebanon.
” Over the past day, the soldiers eliminated dozens of Hezbollah terrorists, both on the ground and from the air, in cooperation with the Israeli Air Force.
“The soldiers located two storage facilities in a civilian area containing a large number of weapons including shells, Kornet missiles, numerous AT-3 Sagger missiles, and over 100 mortars.
” Additionally, in cooperation with Yahalom forces, four tunnel shafts were located that the terrorists used as shelters and weapons stockpiles.
“In one of the operations, the soldiers spotted terrorists who fled after firing an anti tank missile at them. Shortly afterward, an IAF aircraft struck the terrorists”.
