Heavy rainfall claims 38 lives in India, Pakistan

PAKISTAN – At least 38 people have been killed and several others injured in a deadly rainfall that hit parts of Pakistan and India.
Dozens of residents are stranded while many have been evacuated from their homes.
About 275,000 are reported to have been stranded following two days of heavy rainfall in Vijayawada and Pradesh, resulting in over flooding of the Budameru River, which overwhelmed surrounding areas.
Among those killed in Pakistan are five children.
The authority in 11 Indian districts have issued alerts, warning residents about the bad weather.
There are reports that 170 people have died from heavy flooding in the six Northern states of India in the last few weeks.
