OKITIPUPA, Ondo, Nigeria – The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS has given an 11 day notice to the Federal Government of Nigeria to shut down major cities in the country over recent upward adjustment of the pump price of fuel.
In a statement signed by Sen. Okunomo Henry Adewumi President of the Senate, which copied all governors and relevant security agencies, NANS said the increment has further exacerbated hardship among Nigerians and can no longer stand idle and watch the future of Nigerians mortgaged by the actions of just a few.
” We demand and immediate reversal of the fuel prices and removal of Mr. Kyari as NNPC DG”.
He call on students across the country to wake up to the clarion call to occupy major cities on September 15, 2024.
“We shall not be silenced and we shall not be intimidated. We shall rise in unison to demand a better deal for Nigerian students and the masses”, NANS said.
He urged students to maintain law and order during the peaceful protest.
