Supreme Court judge in Iraq resigns over double standard

IRAQ – Supreme Court Judge in Iraq, Justice Abdul Rahman Suleiman has resigned from the bench over allegations of double standard, which he said is affecting the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq.
He was appalled by the fact that judgement entered by judges deviate from constitutional requirements.
“Some court decisions did not meet with foundations of Iraqi federal system approved by constitution”, he said and had to throw in throwel to safeguard his reputation.
“I was unable to defend rights of Kurdistan Region in the Federal Court”, he added.
