November 11, 2014 – The Yoruba Socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere Renewal Group(ARG) has said that Mr. Yinka Odumakin and a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Mr. Jimi Agbaje are no longer members of the group.

In a statement signed by Programme Officer, Mr. Segun Balogun, the ARG said it is surprised that these individuals are still linked to the body in the media.

“This is to bring to your notice that both Mr. Yinka Odumakin and Mr. Jimi Agbaje are no longer members of the Afenifere Renewal Group.

“We are surprised they are still being linked to ARG in the media after some attempts we have made to notify the public. A particular report even described Mr. Odumakin as “leader” of ARG.

“This notice is not to diminish their contributions to ARG in anyway but state the truth about their membership status”, the statement added.

According to ARG, since the past two years, all activities related to media relations is being coordinated by Mr. Kunle Famoriyo, who took over as ARG’s publicity secretary after Mr. Odumakin left.

“Similarly, Architect Ayo Osunloye became the substantive Lagos Coordinator of ARG more than a year ago, after Mr. Agbaje left.

“The ARG wish the duo well in their endeavours but they should not be linked to ARG in the present tense. They may be linked to ARG in the past tense as a former member, and who knows, maybe in the future tense too, but certainly not in the present”, the group said.
