Teenagers who sold private parts for N100,000 each in Nigeria

LAGOS, Nigeria – What could have driven two teenagers, who are best of friends to consider selling vital organs critical for their survival for N100,000 each without the consent of their parents? This remains the question many Nigerians found very difficult to comprehend.
The two teenagers, Precious Ikechukwu(17), the daughter of a Bishop and Founder of Living World Anointed Gospel Mission, Iyana Ipaja and Theresa Odum(19), secretary to her father allegedly connived with Adeleke Blessing, a member of their church at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos to sell their vital organs to a medical doctor for N100,000 each.
The teenagers, according to Vanguard newspaper in company of Adeleke Blessing travelled without their parent’s consent to Redwood Specialist Hospital, Abeokuta where they sold their organs.
The matter, we gathered became public when Precious, the daughter of the Bishop fell ill and started vomiting and was consequently taken to the hospital for medical test by her father, Ikechukwu Umeayo.
The test, we gathered revealed that her anus and private parts have been damaged. The teenager later confided in her dad that Mrs. Adeleke Blessing trafficked them to Ogun State where their organs were sold to a medical doctor.
The teenagers said they fell to the antics of Adeleke because her father was not paying them enough money and that Adeleke promised that they would be paid good money if they undertook the journey to Ogun State for the deal and warned them not to disclosed the nature of the business to their parents.
