ABUJA, Nigeria – Iconic Nollywood actor, Anthony Mojaro Akposeri who is often remembered for Zacky, the role he played in the New Masquerade, Nigeria’s most popular television drama, which featured on the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA
Tony Akposeri began acting in 1976 when he joined the Nigerian Television Authority. He featured in the New Masquerade and several other soaps on the NTA before switching over to film, following the birth of Nollywood, which brought about a revolution to the Nigerian film industry.
Tony who is from Orogun, Delta States says acting remains very special for him.
“Acting is a thing of joy for me. It is the only thing that keeps me going whether there is money in it or not, the fact that I am doing it to make some people happy, and when they see me they congratulate me I really enjoy the feedback I get from people most of the time. So this really keeps me happy”
The film producer and director who is married with two children has featured in dozens of films among which is Last Flight to Abuja, Quicksand, After the Proposal, Happy Ending, Wetin Women Want, Wife Beater, Ordinary Couple, One Room, The Millions among others.
He holds a BSC degree in Multimedia and Film Production from Thames Valley University, UK and a Diploma in Performing Arts(Screen) from Goldsmith College, London
