    Coronavirus kills 6 in Nigeria as global death toll hits 5, 447, 340

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 670  cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, bringing all time cases to 244, 120.

    But out of the 244, 120 total cases, 216, 180 patients have been treated and discharged, while 3, 045 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 24, 895 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while  6 patients  died in the last 24 hours.

    NCDC: 670 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria;  Lagos – 277,  Kaduna – 199, FCT – 120, Kwara – 20,  Abia – 14,  Rivers -11,  Gombe – 9,  Katsina -9, Bauchi -6m Edo- 3,  Cross River -2: 244, 120  confirmed;  216, 180 discharged ; 3, 045 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 292, 049, 283  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 5, 447, 340 patients have passed on, while 2,031, 208, 303, 289  doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 55, 968, 902 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 827,312 patients have perished, followed by  India, which has documented 34, 922, 882 total cases, while 481, 893 patients have perished, and Brazil which has reported 22, 297, 427 total infections while 619, 401 patients have died as a result of the pandemic.

    The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 13, 497, 175  total cases of infections, while 149, 366 patients could not  make it alive, followed by France with 10, 422, 830 total infections, and 125, 200  deaths and Russia, which has registered 10, 374, 292 total cases of infections, while 305, 096  patients have passed on.

    Turkey remains the 7th country most hit with 9, 599, 640 total cases, while 82, 795 patients have passed on, followed by Germany which has documented 7, 235, 208 all time infections, while 112, 332 patients have perished and Spain with 6, 615, 618 total infections, while 89, 567 patients could not make it alive.

     Iran is the 10th country most hit globally,  reporting 6, 198, 590 total cases, while 131,702 patients have perished and South Africa, the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has documented 3, 475, 512 total cases, while 91, 312 patients are no more.
