ONITSHA, Anambra – Candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Andy Uba and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Prof. Charles Soludo will on Thursday appear before Anambra state governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Awka.
The duo had filed motion exparte to inspect the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC materials for the November 6, governorship election.
“Andy Uba and Soludo will on Thursday appear before the justices of the tribunal for Exparte motion. The exparte motion is purposeful to enable them inspect INEC materials used for the election. The expertise motion is not served to any person. It is only the applicant that can appear before the justices”, Secretary of election petition tribunal Barr. Suraju Gusau told reporters.
However, despite the expiration of the 21 days deadline for the filing of petitions at the Anambra governorship election petitions tribunal two more petitioners had filed, bringing the total numbers to 13.
The two new petitioners are People’s Progressive Alliance PPA and the Mega Party MP. They are praying for the nullification of the November 6th governorship election on the grounds of irregularities.
Our report further gathered that the tribunal tribunals are currently waiting for the reply from the respondents to fix date for commencement of hearing. Investigations revealed that hearing on the petitions may commence towards the end of this month or early next month .
