AWKA, Anambra – Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and other political parties in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State have declared their support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency, Chief Chukwudi Oli, ahead of the 2027 general election.
The political realignment is expected to strengthen Oli’s chances of emerging victorious in the House of Representatives election.
The endorsement was announced during a consultative meeting between the group and the APGA House of Representatives campaign organisation held in Abagana on Tuesday.
The campaign organisation is headed by a former Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. George Ozor, who serves as the Director-General (DG). Other dignitaries present at the meeting included the APGA House of Representatives candidate, Chief Chukwudi Oli; the APGA Chairman in Njikoka LGA, Chief Onyenechi Ezeaso; retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi; Chief Chibuzo Oli; Chief Ogochukwu Egolum; and several other party stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its leader, Ozo Ejiamatu, and its chairman, Mr. Onyenechi Ezeaso, said members resolved to support Oli because of his demonstrated passion, commitment, and contributions to the development of communities across the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency, as well as his humanitarian disposition.
Ejiamatu said the decision to support Oli transcended political party affiliations.
“Within our group, we have members of the PDP, APC, NDC, and other political parties.
However, we have decided to unite behind Chief Chukwudi Oli because we are convinced that supporting him is in our collective interest.
“We believe that when he gets to the House of Representatives, he will work diligently for the development of the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency.
“We are no longer willing to entrust our future to selfish politicians who have repeatedly deceived our people. They have had enough opportunities, and it is time for genuine representation,” Ejiamatu stated.
Also speaking, Ezeaso clarified that the group was not an APGA political structure, stressing that its endorsement of Oli should not be interpreted as a blanket endorsement of all APGA candidates in the forthcoming elections.
According to him, the group’s support was based solely on Oli’s personal qualities, leadership capacity, and track record of community service.
Responding, Chief Chukwudi Oli expressed appreciation to members of the group for their confidence in him, assuring them that he would not betray their trust if elected.
He stated that his political philosophy is anchored on accountability, transparency, inclusiveness, and service to humanity.
Oli pledged that, if elected into the House of Representatives, he would not use public office for personal enrichment but would deploy his experience, influence, and network to attract meaningful development to the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency.
He further said that his approach to public service is inspired by his mentor, the renowned Anambra-born businessman and philanthropist, Prince Arthur Eze.
According to him, the people of the constituency would experience a new era of responsive representation, improved opportunities, and better living standards if entrusted with the mandate.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the campaign organisation, Hon. George Ozor, commended members of the group for the confidence they had reposed in Oli, describing their endorsement as a significant boost to the campaign.
“We are aware that the 2027 House of Representatives election in this federal constituency will be among the most keenly contested in Anambra State.
However, considering the influence and credibility of your leader, Ozo Ejiamatu, and the calibre of personalities in this group, we are convinced that today’s development has considerably strengthened our campaign and enhanced our prospects for victory,” Ozor said.
Similarly, the APGA Chairman in Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Anakwe, described the endorsement as a major source of encouragement and political momentum for the party.
He said the declaration of support would not only boost Chief Chukwudi Oli’s House of Representatives campaign but would also strengthen the electoral prospects of other APGA candidates in the area, including the party’s senatorial candidate, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo.
