AWKA, Anambra – Dr. Greg Ezeilo, Chairman of the Anambra State Board of Internal Revenue (AiRS), has revealed that the board is targeting a monthly internally generated revenue (IGR) of N10 billion.
Ezeilo, who is also the chairman,Board of Trustee of Anambra Deserve Soludo (ADS), made the announcement while speaking with our correspondent in Awka, the state capital, shortly after touring the governor’s projects in the state
He lauded Governor Soludo for his remarkable achievements, particularly in infrastructure, education ,health and human capital without resorting to borrowing funds.
He described Soludo as a “magician” for successfully constructing 600 kilometers of roads, building a new government house, creating a Fun City, and more, all without borrowing a single kobo.
Ezeilo said that Soludo’s success lies in his foresight and ability to implement his vision for the state.
“One of the greatest strengths of Governor Soludo is his ability to drive success through the power of his mind. He is very prudent in managing the state’s resources,” Ezeilo stated.
He further noted that Soludo’s prudent resource management has been pivotal in driving the state’s economic and developmental growth and the board is committed to driving legitimate revenue to support the government developmental stride.
According to Ezeilo, Anambra’s revenue has grown significantly under Soludo’s leadership, while the state’s revenue was once at N1.5 billion and it has now increased to N4.5 billion, and the board is targeting N10 billion in monthly IGR.
He said that Anambra state revenue is not only domicile in the state but beyond and they are tapping into them.
He attributed this growth to the governor’s visionary and efficient management of state resources.
Ezeilo also commended the governor for eliminating illegal revenue collections and reducing leakages in the state’s financial systems over the years.
Looking ahead to the 2025 governorship election, Ezeilo expressed confidence that Governor Soludo’s achievements would make it impossible for anyone to challenge his re-election bid.
“Governor Soludo has performed exceptionally well, and no one can challenge him in the upcoming election. His administration has surpassed all developmental strides in the state’s history,” Ezeilo stated.
He went on to say that anyone attempting to challenge the governor will ultimately face public defeat and shame.
“I am not a politician, but for the purpose of this discussion, I stand as a full-time politician and strong supporter of Governor Soludo,” he added.
Ezeilo also said that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won’t have needed scheduling primaries, saying that given the governor’s outstanding performance,nobody should come out to challenge him.
He argued that if not for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) requirement for primaries, there would be no need for any primary.
“We don’t need to change a winning team. Changing a winning team is a mark of mediocrity,” he stated.
He further highlighted that Governor Soludo is setting a long-term developmental agenda for Anambra, focusing on key areas such as innovation, quality education, healthcare and others .
“The governor is bringing a disruptive innovations to the state, and everyone must support these developments for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.”he added.
Ezeilo reaffirmed his belief that Soludo’s administration has laid a solid foundation for the future, with a developmental agenda that spans 50 years and beyond.
