LAGOS, Nigeria – Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB), has handed over to Dr. Gbolabo Omoniyi Okudero after a successful and unprecedented 8-year tenure.

According to Olagoke, at the handing-over ceremony, the outgoing Board Secretary, Mrs. Gbafe, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the board dedicatedly for 8 exceptional years. She confidently handed over the reins to Dr. Gbolabo Omoniyi Okudero, whom she described as a devout Christian and a pleasure to work with.

While receiving the baton of service,  Dr. Okudero emphasised his commitment to dedicated service, built over the years. He solicited the cooperation and love of every staff member to uphold the excellent legacy established by his predecessor, Mrs. Gbafe.

The staff of the board received Dr. Okudero with enthusiasm and well-wishes, praying for a successful and fulfilling tenure. The Board gladly celebrated Mrs. Gbafe’s exit amidst praises and prayers for divine elevation and continued success in her future endeavours.

Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, a seasoned administrator with over 25 years of quality experience in public administration and management, successfully coordinated pilgrimage exercises on behalf of the Lagos State Government with zero record of crisis.

She led numerous pilgrimages, including a total of 1001 pilgrims in 2019/2020, 341 pilgrims to Jordan in 2021, 765 pilgrims to Israel and Jordan in 2022, 342 pilgrims in 2023 (310 General Pilgrims and 32 pilgrims on Special diaspora/ Intercontinental Pilgrimage Exercise, which was the first of its kind since the inception of the agency).

Recently, Gbafe successfully led 382 people (1st & 2nd) Batch of the year 2024 Pilgrims to the Land of Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan with a heartfelt thanksgiving service upon their safe return.

Gbafe initiated various welfare activities to support her staff and some vulnerable members of the public, including birthday celebrations, office farming, monthly welfare interventions, and knowledge sharing, among others.
