JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced that its position on a sovereign state of Palestine remains firm and unwavering.

The kingdom made the announcement just as President Donald J Trump  of the United States  alluded to the plan of the U.S to take over the Gaza Strip and that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is no longer keen about a sovereign Palestinian State.

Trump also has no plans for  the original residents of Gaza but that the residents could find a place in Jordan or Egypt.

But  in a swift reaction,  His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister said that Saudi will continue its relentless efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and will not establish any diplomatic relations with Israel without  an Independent Palestinian state.

He also emphasized a Palestinian state that is based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital and demanded an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

He called on peace loving countries to recognize the state of Palestine, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing  the international community to support the Palestinian people’s rights as expressed in the United Nations General Assembly resolutions, recognizing Palestine’s eligibility for full UN membership.

Saudi Arabia also rejected any infringement on the rights of Palestinian people whether through Israeli settlement policies, land annexation, or attempt  to displace the Palestinian people from their land.

“The International community has a duty today to alleviate the severe humanitarian suffering endured by the Palestinian people, who will remain steadfast on their land and will not move from it”, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said, adding that its  unwavering position  is non-negotiable and not subject to compromise.

The Kingdom pointed out that achieving  a lasting and just peace is impossible without the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights in accordance with the international resolutions as has been previously clarified to both the former and current U.S administrations.
