LEBANON – Not less than four Israeli soldiers, a Major, a captain and two other soldiers operating against Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon during ongoing ceasefire have been killed.

The four soldiers are Major (Res.) Evgeny Zinershain, aged 43, from Zikhron Ya’akov, a company commander in the 9263rd Battalion, 226th Brigade; Captain (Res.) Sagi Ya’akov Rubinshtein, aged 31, from Lavi, a platoon commander in the 9263rd Battalion, 226th Brigade; Master Sergeant (Res.) Binyamin Destaw Negose, aged 28, from Bet Shemesh, a soldier in the 9263rd Battalion, 226th Brigade and Sergeant First Class (Res.) Erez Ben Efraim, aged 25, from Ramat Gan, a soldier in the 9263rd Battalion, 226th Brigade.

According to Lebanese sources, the four Israeli soldier entered a tunnel where Hezbullah had a cache of weapon that was boobitrapped with explosives, which exploded, killing all the soldiers.

Confirming the incident, the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF said the four soldiers fell during combat in Lebanon.

He added that their families have been informed.
