BERLIN – Borussia Dortmund defender Almugera Kabar was allegedly racially abused during Germany under-19 team’s 2-1 win against Spain on Wednesday.

Footage from the game shows Kabar gesticulating towards the stands before a throw-in. People there were allegedly shouting insults towards the player.

In the video, Kabar also can be heard complaining about the comments from the fans and pointing them out to referee Kadir Saglam.

The German Football Federation told dpa by request: “We’re aware of the incident at the U19 international match in Romania. We’re working closely with (European football ruling body UEFA) to discuss the exact course of events and are of course in contact with our players.

“The DFB is always committed to non-discriminatory football and supports its players,” the federation added.

Kabar has been included in Dortmund’s professional squad for two Bundesliga games this season, but only stayed on the bench.
