JEDDAH – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called on all countries of the world to take the necessary actions, including imposing an arms embargo on Israel and end any business activities harmful to Palestinians.
The OIC also called for imposition of sanctions to compel Israel to immediately and fully cease its military aggression against Palestine and Lebanon, which poses a grave threat to security and stability in the region.
The OIC made the called in line with the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron, in which he emphasized the necessity to halt the export of armaments to Israel, the occupying force.
The French President gave the advice since the armaments exported to Israel are deployed in the genocidal on the Gaza Strip, and he wants priority placed on seeking a political solution to the conflict, which aligns with international humanitarian law, the legal opinion issued by the International Court of Justice, and relevant United Nations resolutions.
The OIC called upon France to recognize the State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Al-Quds as its capital, reaffirming its positions in support of the vision of the two-state solution and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
The OIC further stressed that the continued provision of military and financial support to Israel, the occupying force, only emboldens it to perpetuate crimes and violations against the Palestinian people.
