Arab league calls for comprehensive recognition of Palestine, full membership of UN

MADRID, Spain – The Muslim World League(MWL), otherwise called Arab league, comprising all Arab states and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,OIC has tasked the international community for a comprehensive recognition of the State of Palestine, granting it full membership of the United Nations.

The Arab league spoke far away in Madrid, Spain via a statement issued by the General Secretariat MWL, Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdulkarim AI-Issa, Secretary General and Chairman Organization of Muslim Scholars, expressed appreciation for the concerted efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people of Palestine and securing their legitimate rights to an Independent state.

He emphasised the importance of enabling the Palestinian government to fully administer its responsibility across the Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem.

He called on the international community to adopt proactive measures towards implementing the two states solution, which encompasses the comprehensive recognition of the state of Palestine and its acceptance as a full member of the United Nations.

He underscored the imperative for immediate, unconditional and unrestricted delivery of large scale humanitarian aid through the opening of all crossings.

He advocated for bolstering of all operations of UNRWA and other UN agencies.

He implored all parties to adhere to their obligations under international humanitarian laws and heed the ruling of International Court of Justice and cease all activities that escalate tension in the West Bank, including military offensive against Palestinians as well as unlawful actions that impede peace efforts, such as settlements activities, land confiscation and displacement of Palestinians.
