25 killed, 127 injured in Israeli bombardment across Lebanon

BEIRUT – The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF continued its bombardment across Lebanon leaving at least 25 dead and 127 others injured by Friday evening.

The IDF inflicted heavy air strikes on Dahieh, Beirut, where the Hezbollah Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was martyred.

We gathered that among the 25 people confirmed dead are 11 paramedics and several civilians.

But in a statement, the IDF Spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said following the sirens that sounded at 18:12 in the area of Avivim, approximately 25 projectile launches were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory and that some were intercepted, and the rest fell in open areas. No injuries were reported.

He said that over the past day, based on precise direction by the IDF Intelligence Directorate, the IAF precisely struck several weapons storage facilities, command and control centers, and additional terrorist infrastructure sites in the area of Beirut.

“Additionally, the IAF struck Hezbollah intelligence targets in Beirut, including Hezbollah intelligence operatives, intelligence collection means, command centers, and additional infrastructure”, adding “prior to the strikes, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians, including using precise munitions and leveraging aerial surveillance.

He said Hezbollah has deliberately embedded its weapons production facilities and weaponry beneath residential buildings in the heart of the city of Beirut, endangering the population in the area.

“Additionally, over the past day, based on the direction of the Northern Command, the IAF precisely struck dozens of Hezbollah terror targets throughout southern Lebanon, including weapons storage facilities, terrorist cells, launchers, and additional terrorist infrastructure sites.

“The IDF will continue to strike Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure and degrade its military capabilities in Lebanon”, he said.
