BEIRUT, Lebanon – Air strikes by the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF on Lebanon is having a heavy toll on the civilian population. Among the civilian population affected was the Ahmed Gharib family.
The family made up of father, mother and two daughters were eliminated in series of bombings by Israel across Lebanon as part of its battle against the Lebanese Resistant Forces, Hezbollah.
So far death toll in Israeli raids has passed the 100 mark. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, so far, 120 people have been killed while 640 others injured in Israeli air strikes in Lebanon. This figure does not take into cognizance those killed and injured in pager explosion in Lebanon.
Israel said it is embarking on the bombardment to create a buffer zone in the Occupied Northern Palestine so as to allow Israel settlers who have been sent packing from the north by severe rocket attacks by Hezbollah to return.
Meanwhile, in a terse statement, the IDF said the Fighter Jets that eliminated the Commanders of the Radwan Force, Headed by Ibrahim Aqil, took off from for operation in Lebanon.
According to the statement, the Israeli Air Force continues to operate offensively and defensively across all arenas.
It added that over the past days, the Israeli Air Force has been striking in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and also operating in Judea and Samaria.
“In these extensive strikes, over 150 fighter jets were used, striking launchers and military infrastructure with large amounts of weaponry in southern Lebanon.
“This is in addition to the elimination of the Head of Hezbollah’s Operations Unit and the Commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, Ibrahim Aqil, along with 15 other terrorists from the Hezbollah terrorist organization, including senior commanders within the Radwan Force chain of command. The Israeli Air Force is prepared and ready for any developments”, IDF Spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in the statement.
