TEL AVIV – Israel’s Minister of War, Yoav Gallant has blamed Israel, specifically, Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu for delay in the deal for a ceasefire in Gaza and return of the remaining captives.

Gallant, who was speaking in Israel said ” it is our moral duty to secure the release of the captives, even if it means releasing Palestinian ‘murderers.’”

He said that during the security meeting, he criticized Netanyahu as follows:

“I hear all the heroes beating the drums and chattering about absolute victory; they only show their courage in debates, but never in closed rooms.”

According to him, with the dismantling of the War Cabinet a few weeks ago, Gallant added that “there has been no way to make decisions because there are no voices”, he said.

Responding, Netanyahu said that Gallant is harming the chances of reaching a deal.

He added that Netanyahu should have attacked Sinwar instead of him, and echoed his empty talk of an “absolute victory.”

Gallant spoke just as the Palestinian Resistant Movement, Hamas has said it is not interested in any new negotiations for ceasefire and release of captives.

Hamas has called on mediators, Qatar, Egypt and the Americans to get Netanyahu to comply with the tripartite agreement entered in July, having President Joe Biden’s vision for Palestine and resolutions of the United Nations Security Council on Gaza, Rafah Crossing and other crossings within the Gaza Strip.
