THE HAGUE – The International Court of Justice, ICJ has described Israel as practicing apartheid policy in the West Bank, describing annexation of the area and Eastern Al-Quds as illegal and a breach of international laws.
It said it is illegal for the occupation to impose martial laws on the areas it occupies but bound by the local laws.
The court charged the international community to repudiate Israeli settlements.
The ICJ noted that Israel has accelerated settlement construction in the occupied West Bank with 24,000 new units, and in the process violating international law and creating an untenable living situation for Palestinians.
The court called on Israel to stop all new settlement activities.
The court ICJ accused Israel of exploitating resources, preventing entry of water to Palestinians, and that tge transfer of settlers to Palestinian areas contradict “international commitments.”
Reacting to the development, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich urged Netanyahu to annex the entire West Bank while “National Security Minister” Itamar Ben-Gvir called the ICJ decision anti-Semitic.
