Blinken told reporters after the meeting that Netanyahu has committed to the ceasefire deal and that the onus is now on Hamas.

Prior to meeting Netanyahu, Blinken met with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant  during which he discussed the proposal to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza as part of a hostage deal, secure the release of all hostages, and surge in humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza.

The Secretary commended Israel’s readiness to conclude a deal and affirmed that the onus is on Hamas to accept.

He underscored the proposal would advance Israel’s long-term security interests, including by enabling the possibility of further integration in the region.  He reaffirmed the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security.
