ISTANBUL – President Tayyip Recip Erdogan of Turkey has met with a delegation of Hamas in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Hamas delegation was headed by the head of the movement’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh.
Both parties had useful discussions.
Presisent Erdogan assures Haniyeh that Turkey will continue its diplomatic efforts to draw the attention of the international community to the injustice to which the Palestinian people are subjected.
Erdogan emphasised the importance of Palestinian unity at this stage in the quest to achieve the Palestinian State.
He told Haniyeh that Turkey implemented a series of sanctions against “israel”, including trade restrictions.
Erdogan assures Haniyeh that “israel” will inevitably one day pay the price for the injustice it is perpetrating on Palestinians.
