UYO, Nigeria – The Governor of Akwa Ibom State HE Umoh Enoh has decided to give State burial to Abigail Edith Fredrick, one of the five actors that died in boat mishap at a riverine area in Asaba, Delta State enroute shooting of the film Another Side of Life being shot by Adanma Luke.
In a statement, the State governor said, he and others are saddened by painful passing, adding ” on behalf of government and people of Akwa Ibom State we sympathise with her family and the Nollywood community and her friends and colleagues over this sad loss”, the governor said.
” We also followed and read the reportage on the social media platform surrounding her burial and wish to State categorically that government was not informed of the circumstances that led to her burial” the government said, adding “His Excellency , Governor Umo Eno has consequently directed that her body be brought back to her family for a proper and descent burial”, the statement added.
The statement added that the “deceased family will not walk alone”, describing Abigail Edith Fredrick as a quintessential “example for our young people who have harken to our call for them to “Rise and Shine”.
