MOSCOW – The Russian Federation has for the first time in history created Malik acoustic detector as drones take over the frontline in modern warfare.

Ukrainian forces have on several occasions successfully targeted residents, offices, oil facilities and other infrastructures in Russia using drones.

The Malik acoustic detector, according to the Russian Federation is able to spot any type of drone in the atmosphere using sound, regardless of the radio frequencies, the Tallamho design bureau told TASS.

“In the last months of the special operation, the enemy shifted radio frequencies to bypass protection from drones.

” The Ukrainians went to the frequency of 720-730 megahertz. At these frequencies there are now no widespread means of identifying drones.

” However, no matter what frequencies the drone operates at, it will still makes sounds when operating.

“Different drones hum in different situations a little differently, so we are collecting a library of signatures, drone sound features, and uploading them to the server,” said the department said.
