UTURU, Abia – Uturu Development Association of Nigeria, UDAN on behalf of good People of Uturu Ancient kingdom has congratulated the founder of Masters Energy Limited for being nominated for the Sun newspapers Industrialist Award of the Year Award 2023.

In a congratulatory message signed by UDAN President General, Dr. Chidi Slessor Mba and General Secretary Mazi Titus Eleweke, the group described Dr Uche Ogah as a proud son of Uturu who had impacted positively on the lives of people and development of the town and Nigeria.

The statement stated that Dr Ogah’s industrial revolution in Uturu and Nigeria as well as his Philanthropic gestures endeared him to the management of The Sun newspapers for the pretigious award.

“Uturu is proud of you for the numerous developmental efforts you have done and you are still doing for the community, Abia State and Nigeria.

“We say congratulations and pray that the good Lord will continue to protect and preserve you in good health, long life and more wealth” it stated.

Management of The Sun Publishing Limited, publishers of Daily Sun, Saturday Sun, Sunday Sun and Sporting Sun, in the letter of nomination signed by the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh said that Ogah selection for the award was based on merit because of his outstanding contributions to the growth of the Nigerian economy.

“We are aware that prior to your venture into manufacturing, you spent about 10 years in the banking sector, beginning with NAL Merchant Bank where you did your mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme. Thereafter, you took up full employment at All States Trust Bank and spent about two years in the bank before joining Zenith Bank in 1997, where you rose to the position of Assistant General Manager (AGM) before resigning in 2007.

As the Founder/Chairman of Masters Energy Group of Companies, you have contributed in creating jobs in the country, thereby reducing the number of unemployed Nigerians. Overtime, you have grown from a small business owner to an oil magnate, entrepreneur, investor and a notable philanthropist.

A tour of your Industrial City located in your village, Onuaku-Uturu, in Isiukwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, leaves one confounded. We have observed a steady growth of your Masters Energy; with about 30 subsidiaries, and each of them engaged in the production of different brands of goods. It may therefore, not be out of place to say that Masters Energy Group is Jack of All Trades and Master of All.

“You have also invested in Energy, Gas, Noodles and Food Processing, Lubricants, Biscuits, PVC Pipes, Cartons, Aluminum, Metering Plant and a Plastic unit where Water Tanks, Chairs, Plates and several others are produced under the industrial city, with other subsidiaries like Detergent and Fertilizer in the pipeline.

“We are not surprised that you have also ventured into vehicle assembly plant which is involved in assembling both light and heavy duty vehicles. There is also the Masters Tricycle which you have started assembling.

“We also know that Masters Energy has heavy presence in Lagos, Ogun and Rivers State where it trades on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS); Automotive Gas Oil (AGO); Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK); and Aviation Gas (ATK).

“The business acumen, which you have exhibited in managing your investments, earned you not just a ministerial appointment in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration but also a national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON)

“In philanthropy, you have show commitment to uplifting the less privileged and making the society a better place for all. This is evident in the electrification of villages in Uturu community, Abia State. You also built prototype houses for the entire community and constructed a 5,000 capacity auditorium in Abia State University (ABSU) Uturu.

“It is for your vision and creative investment in the oil and gas sector of the Nigerian economy and many others that the Board of Editors of The Sun Publishing Limited has chosen you as winner of The Sun Investor of the Year Award for 2023.

“The Investor of the Year Award is given to that man or woman who has made visible investments thereby contributing to the development of the Nigerian economy”, the Sun Newspapers said.

The presentation of the award will be held at the prestigious, The Sun Awards ceremony scheduled for February 17, 2024 at the Expo Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. We expect you to be physically present to receive the award, along with family members, business associates and friends” it stated.
