BERLIN – The musician Isaak will represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest on May 11 in Malmö, Sweden.
An audience and jury vote confirmed Isaak as Germany’s contender on Friday night during the programme “Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024” in Berlin. He sings his power-pop ballad “Always On The Run” with a strong, impassioned voice.
According to NDR television network, the 28-year-old is a father of two. He reportedly made his first appearance on the X-Factor programme in 2011. During the coronavirus pandemic, he won the digital talent show “Show your Talent.”
The Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 11 in Malmö. In recent years, Germany has habitually finished in last place. This was also the case in 2023 – the band Lord of the Lost only collected 18 points in the voting at the ESC in Liverpool. Sweden’s Loreen scored the most points – 583 – with her Europop hit “Tattoo”.
