Yuletide: Onitsha South LGA chairman assures residents of adequate security

ONITSHA, Anambra – Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government Area,Chief Emeka Joseph Orji has assured of providing adequate security during the Yuletide festival.

A statement Chief Emeka Joseph Orj personally signed said he is committed to safety of the residents during the Christmas, new year and at all times.

“As we go into the festive season I wish to reassure you all of our commitment towards ensuring security of lives and property. To this end and in conjunction with our able working governor Prof Charles Soludo security network has been enhanced and major crime flash points put under surveillance.

“Also the anti touting squad has been reinvigorated to provide 24 hours operations along with the security personnel in our respective markets are packs” he said.

According to him, market leaders have been charged to work hand in gloves with other market Unions to ensure synergy in the provision of security during this season. He said all the relevant task forces have been put on notice.

“Also private motor park operators in Onitsha South local government area are by this release directed to provide day to day situation reports about the state of security in their parks to the relevant office at the local government.

While we strive to make Onitsha a livable prosperous and healthy smart City Council I urge you all to be law abiding and also be vigilant and report any suspicious movements and gathering to the offices designated for that ” he stated.
