Israel kills another AJ journalist bringing death toll to 90 in war on Gaza
KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza – The gruesome Israeli genocide on Gaza under guise of eleminating Hamas has claimed another life of Al Jazeera journalist, bringing death toll of journalists killed by the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF to 90 since October 7, Committee for the Protection of Journalists has said.
The journalist, Samer Abu Daqqa was killed by in Khan Younis, while he was covering the aftermath of Israeli bombardment of a UN school, accomodating refugees in Gaza.
The journalist was hit when Israeli war planes bombed the area.His colleague hit by shrapnel managed to get to hospital to receive treatment but he could not be reached for help as ambulances were prevented by IDF rapid fire from reaching him.
He has been buried in Khan Younis. Al Jazeera reported that Samer Abu Daqqa spent holiday in London with his family but returned to Gaza in September to continue his work before he was killed by Israel’s war unleashing collective punishment on Palestinians, UN staff, and medical personnel including journalists in revenge for Hamas’ October 7 surprise attacks on Israel that claimed 1400 lives.
So far over 20,000 Palestinians have been killed in the war, about 8000 of them children.
Over 90 UN workers and almost 200 medical workers have been killed by Israel.
