LAGOS, Nigeria – Screening and treatment of over 100 market men and women for blood pressure and diabetes on Friday took place at the Idimu pipeline market in Idimu area of Egbe Idimu LCDA of Lagos state.

This excercise was an initiative of a newly founded all-female socio-philanthropist club in Lagos, under the eagis of The Glam Golden Divas Club.

The screening and treatment exercises, which marked the commencement of the Club’s 2023 Christmas charity programme, majorly targeted the market women and men, was carried out on Friday December 1, 2023, while visitation and donation to the orphanage were done on Saturday December 2, 2023.

Dr. Zino Akinrefon, President of the club, in a release made available to the press by the public relations officer, Bukola Ibrahim, the club was basically founded to assist the less privileged, ignorant men and women in the areas of their health and also in knowledge and employment.

Dr. Akinrefon noted that the Glam Golden Divas Club would be giving greater attention to the grassroots men, women and children in need throughout the country with more emphasis on health issues and hunger.

The public relations officer, Bukola Ibrahim, further revealed that Glam Golden Divas Club was made up of responsible married women who are all professionals in their various callings and who have compassion for the challenged gender and children in need.

She added that the blood pressure and diabetes screening exercises carried out by the club and the visitation to the orphanage home were their first major activities following the club’s formation a couple of months back.

The PRO added that whilst Glam Golden Divas Club was neither a religious nor political association, it had however devised its Callender of activities to revolve around public holidays and religious festivities in the country to which the club would be committing money, time and other valuable resources.

Said she: “We will be impacting positively and majorly on the less privileged and children in need, and our plan and time focus for our charity programmes will surely be around festivies so that we can continue to share the joyful spirits of the festivals”.
