ASABA – The Nigerian Police Force has warned that promoting or abetting same sex marriage is a crime in Nigeria.
Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, Mr. Bright Edafe made the revelation following a report by Instablog9ja on same sex marriage.
The social media news purveyor had headlined a report, “ Nigerians are over the moon as two stylish-love birds tie the knot”.
The report was based on X photographs uploaded by one Nehemiah Advance, wherein the couple, wrote: “We got married”.
In reply to the publication, DSP Bright Edafe wrote “Do you know promoting, aiding and abetting same sex marriage in Nigeria is an offense? Una just start this one recently”, he wrote.
