What is our crime, we are not part of this war – Palestinian child

GAZA, Palestine – Living in Gaza  is becoming unbearable after 25,000 tons of bombs were dropped by the occupation force, the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF from October 7 to November 2, 2023.

This is almost twice the tons of bombs dropped in the Japanese city of Hiroshima during WWII.  The consequence: 9, 227 Palestinians have been killed, among them 3, 826 children, 126 paramedics, 35 journalists, 28 of them Palestinians and 72 people working for United Nations agencies.

Some in the population were killed while queuing up to obtain basic necessities of life like bread. Journalists and their families  are killed without any reason simply for exposing the carnage which has gone out of proportion.

The PRESS Vest and crash helmet are no longer a protection in the Gaza Strip for journalists covering the conflict. It is so unbearable that a journalist working for Al Jazeera was forced to let go of these protection gears, that they are no longer of any use, since they are being targeted everyday as they set out to inform the international community about what seemed to be an organsed genocide in Gaza.

Even medical doctors are no exception. Dr. Bara Abu Elaish was killed along with 21 other family members when the IDF rained bombs for the second time in two days on the Jabalia Refugee camp. She just graduated from medical school and about to commence work when her life was cut short.

The children are also not spared in this orgy of violence. At least one child is killed in every bomb that has been dropped on civilian targets. It is so horrible that a 7 year old Palestinian bewildered about the development queried as tears welled up his cheeks, “What is our crime, we are not part of this war”.

Some hospitals have been targeted with threats on others still managing to serve the wounded in Palestine. At least 21 injuries were recorded by shrapnels when the IDF bombed the surroundings of  Al Quds Hospital.

Most of the hospitals in Palestine have been forced to shut down due to lack of fuel, with just two, the Turkish Hospital and Al Shifa Hospital running on emergency generators that will run out of fuel in a matter of hours.

The consequence is that the over 22,000 people wounded cannot be treated and will be left to die after excessive bleeding. Many now pass the night in the open since their homes, even in refugee camps, have been targeted  in the quest to completely obliterate Hamas for the October 7 surprise attack on Israel that left 1405 Israelis dead, with about 240 others said to be under captivity by Hamas.

Gaza is in a sorry state that calls for the world to rise up against Israel and the United States that has continued to fund this carnage the way it rallied against Russia in its occupation of Ukraine.
