GAZA, Palestine – Strike by the Israeli Defence Forces has wiped out the family of Wael Dahdouh, a Palestinian journalist working for Al Jazeera in Palestine. Till date, 27 journalists have been killed by the continued bombardment of Gaza by the IDF since October 7 Hamas’ attack on Israel which killed 1400 people, the Committee for the Protection of Journalists has said, https//www.cpj.org
Four of his family members were killed in the refugee camp after they were evacuated from Gaza strip following a warning by the IDF. Family members killed include, his wife, son, grandson and daughter, who were all buried today in Gaza.
Speaking during the burial, Dahdouh said killing his family will not silence his voice, adding that he will continue to tell the story of the suffering and oppression of Palestine by Israel; “Shame on Israel”, he said.
Speaking at a press conference, UNCHR coordinator said Israeli airstrikes have killed 57 UNCHR workers in the Gaza Strip, while Hamas said 50 captives have been killed by Israel in the continued bombardment of Gaza.
So far, Israel has detained 1460 Palestinians, while the Health Ministry in Gaza said the siege on Gaza by Israel has killed 7028 Palestinians, while over 7000 others have been injured. So far 1405 Israelis, according to IDF sources have died in the 21 days offensive.
