29 US citizens killed by Hamas as Israel evacuates citizens from 28 communities

TEL AVIV – Not less than 29 citizens of the United States have been killed since the surprise attack on Israel by the military arm of the Palestinian organisation, Hamas just as Israel begins evacuation of citizens from 28 communities. 

Spokesman of the U.S Department of State made the confirmation even as the Israeli government has initiated evacuation of residents living up to two kilometres from Lebanon in about 28 communities following a series of rocket attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon. 

“The National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) of the Ministry of Defense and the IDF are announcing the implementation of a plan to evacuate residents of northern Israel who live in the area up to 2 kilometers from the Lebanese border to state-funded guesthouses”, the IDF said in a statement. 

According to the statement, the implementation of the plan was approved by Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant.

The statement noted that the Northern Command of IDF has updated the heads of the local authorities on to the decision. 

“The plan will be implemented by the heads of the local municipalities, the Ministry of Interior and the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) of the Ministry of Defense. 

The 28 communities included in the plan are: Ghajar, Dishon, Kfar Yuval, Margaliot, Metula, Avivim, Dovev, Ma’ayan Baruch, Bara’m, Manara, Yiftach, Malkia, Misgav Am, Yir’on, Dafna, Arab al-Aramshe, Shlomi, Netu’a, Ya’ara, Shtula, Matat, Zari’t, Shomera, Betzet, Adamit, Rosh HaNikram, Hanita and Kfar Giladi.
