Russian rockets kill 7, injure 144 people in Ukraine

UKRAINE – At least seven people were killed and about 144 others injured when Russian Armed Forces RAF launched an attack on Chernihiv in Ukraine.

Among those killed was  six year old Sofia and 15 children.

Speaking on the incident, President Volodymyr Zelensky said various leaders, representatives of states and international organizations have condemned the extremely vile Russian attack on Ukraine, on Chernihiv.

“I am grateful to everyone in the world who today expressed condolences to Ukraine, our people.

” Unfortunately, seven people died in Chernihiv from a rocket. Among them was a girl named Sofia, she was six years old… My condolences to the relatives! There are 144 wounded and injured, including 15 children”, he said.

According to him, the rocket hit the city center on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord – an Orthodox holiday.

He said a total of 140 people performed the rescue operation including doctors, “emergency services”, military and local authorities. Everyone helped.

” Thank you to everyone who saved the lives of children, adults – everyone.

“And I would especially like to mention the “emergency” paramedics Lyudmyla Kopysh and Vyacheslav Prokhorenko, the employees of the State Emergency Service Serhiy Kostenko, Vladyslav Sokolenko, Yuriy Ovrutskyi, Valery Morgatskyi, Oleksiy Marchenko and Viktor Dovzhenko, as well as policemen Andriy Vovka and Andriy Zelyak. Thank you all” , he said adding ” I am sure: our soldiers will respond to Russia for this terrorist attack. A tangible answer.
