LAGOS, Nigeria – Zenith Bank Plc has increased salary of workers to enable them cope with hardship that recent removal of petrol subsidy has imposed on Nigerians.
We gathered that the bank increased salaries by 25 to 60 percent depending on the grade of the worker.

Sources within the bank confirmed that the workers in the lower grade got the highest percentage of the increment, while those those in the top cadre got lower percentage.
It is not clear if the recent increment affected drivers and cleaners, since these category of workers are usually outsourced, that is they are usually brought in by contractors who are paid in bulk who in turn determine how much each worker is paid.
